And while the Companion quests are pretty plainly signposted, they are pretty varied and several of them strongly incorporate into the main story in interesting ways (especially Tristian, Amiri, and Linzi). I think it has some really neat character writing and the premise of main conflict is pretty unique. It also has a big city/kingdom building element.Įdit: I haven't tried the turn based mod. Make sure to buy any Bags of Holding you see though. The key difference is that it's not Turn Based. The balance is a bit off, but it has some interesting ideas.īuying gear is not that important for the lion's share of the game, don't be afraid to dump gold (regular money) into Build Points ("kingdom money"). Set the Kingdom related difficulties to easy, but I wouldn't automate it. Try to do Companion quests whenever you can as well. And try to find Armag's Tomb asap.Īnd if you want to gather Relics and Artifacts, this communal Google Doc is pretty good. This is like 50 hours in but in Act IV, it's generally recommended to do Hour of Rage (Barbarians) before Betrayer's Flight. Whenever you get a Bald Hilltop event, make sure you're ready to head there asap. I guess my main general piece of advice is to not fret about the timers too much.yes I know they can be anxiety-inducing but they are usually extremely lenient. Expect to sink 100+ hours into it if you stick with it. Thread LTTP - Pathfinder: Kingmaker Enhanced Edition It's a dense and massive game. The exact opposite of New California where most of the buildings were empty and there was little to find off the beaten path. The most impressive thing is just how expansive it is. There are a shitton of references everywhere.

I'm constantly going through ammo and buying out all the stock.

The whole mod is a bit combat-heavy though. On a more positive note, the map itself is really dense and there are quests everywhere. The vertibird gun sections are boring too.

I've really not liked the story missions and I think the voice acting is probably the worst of the major conversion mods I've played, but it's hard to dwell on that too much when it's made as a fan project. I've been playing for about 25 hours and I've still got a bit more of the map to uncover. I guess I'll throw in some of my weekend opinions. So it's cool to see that sort of stuff implemented. I've also gotten a few pop-up dialogues with Wrench, once for her disagreeing with my generosity, another for joining the Crusaders. Reloaded a save and will let it sit for now.Įnjoying myself way more now that I'm avoiding mainline NCR story bits, lol.Įdit: Oh, also there is some dialogue when you take certain characters to certain places, like taking America to Junkflea. I never met one of the characters in a tied side-quest, so maybe that's playing a role. I also did the miner revolt quest, but some of the parts of it seem to have crossed wires, I helped the miners and now I get yelled at by them. I also met the COS, which I could then bring up to the Crusaders, always cool to see those optional dialogue flags. I met Jolene and her starting quest was pretty cool, and even had the other characters chime in in a specific way. No crashes today, and no serious bugs (mostly just animation related oddities).ĭid a few more sidequests, and it's a mixed bag. Well, I did find the Crusaders, which I suppose is a story branch. Haven't touched main story stuff, just exploring. Thread Fallout: The Frontier mod is a new Fallout game releasing on January 15th (voiced dialogues, multiple major questlines, comparable to FO3 and NV) Is roughly a third of take home pay on housing an okay idea? I know Ramsey suggests something like 25% of take home for housing, but his word is a bit conservative. I do put a significant amount in 401k (max out) so my takehome denominator a bit smaller than it could be, so I'm kinda using that as justification. Once the pmi falls off, it'll be like 31-32%, provided all else equal (any prospective raises roughly match tax increases etc). With PMI, my estimated monthly payment (30-year loan + tax + insurance + pmi) would be about 33-34% of my takehome, estimated. I can't quite meet the 20% down payment, so I was planning on 15% ( and have plenty left for closing costs, moving expenses, savings buffer, etc).

I just kinda need a sounding board a bit to make sure I'm not getting into something too quickly (unfortunately you seem to have to be quite fast in today's market.) My rental situation has become untenable and I've been saving for a while.
